Corrie Grubbs, Development Business & Operations Manager within UCCS Advancement, was recently given the CU Foundation’s McCord Excellence in Fundraising Award. The honor was announced during the CU Advancement All Hands Retreat on June 17.
Since joining UCCS in 2024, Corrie has become a trusted collaborator across every part of the advancement team, whether supporting business operations, HR processes, budgets, or ensuring the success of important events. She is known for her knowledge, integrity and genuine care for others.
“Corrie’s steady expertise and people-centered approach has been especially valuable in times of change,” said UCCS Vice Chancellor for Advancement and Engagement Melinda Hagemann. “She approaches her work with positivity and a collaborative spirit.”
According to Corries’s nomination, what sets her apart is her great sense of humor and a genuine “let’s find a way” mindset that strengthens the entire organization. She embodies the values of the McCord award in so many ways.
“I just wanted to say how honored I am to receive the McCord Award – just humbled,” said Corrie.
Named in honor of the late Charles McCord who led the CU Foundation from 1981 to 2000, the award recognizes employees who exemplify creativity, entrepreneurship, integrity, collegiality, loyalty, and vision. An advancement professional from each campus and the central CU advancement office received recognition.
