New policy updates for spring 2026

Two significant policies have been completed and published:

Assignment of Academic Office Space — Policy 200-024
This policy outlines a structured and transparent process for assigning academic office space to faculty and instructional personnel. It establishes clear criteria and procedures that support fair and consistent decision-making aligned with academic responsibilities and space needs.

Differentiated Annual Workload Evaluation — Policy 200-028
With a focus on recognizing the diverse roles and duties of faculty, this policy provides a framework for evaluating annual workloads in a differentiated manner. It ensures that expectations are clearly communicated and aligned with individual assignments in teaching, research, service, and other areas of responsibility.

Immigration Enforcement Policy in final stages

The Policy Office is currently completing committee work on the Immigration Enforcement Policy, which will replace the executive directive issued last semester by Chancellor Sobanet. Once finalized, this comprehensive policy will provide clear guidance and protections for members of our campus community.

Upcoming Policy Process Revision

Looking forward, the Policy Office will begin the revision process for Policy 100-001 (Campus Policy Process). The goal of this revision is to make the creation or review process of any policy more efficient and effective for all stakeholders.
