Commitment and Promise on campus

If you’re a Pell-eligible student, you may qualify for additional financial aid up to $12,500 per year and housing assistance of $4,000 per year.

In continuing efforts to support students on campus, UCCS is pledging to provide grant awards to students who are eligible for the Federal Pell Grant through Clyde’s Pride Promise. Interested applicants must be Colorado residents and have their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) filled out and processed by March 1 to qualify.

The award is a total of $12,500 for each year students are enrolled at UCCS to cover tuition, fees and book costs.

This is a priority packaging award program, meaning students must renew their FAFSA each year, retain Federal Pell Grant eligibility, and meet the financial aid satisfactory academic progress requirements each semester.

“UCCS has always been committed to assisting our Colorado community students in Admissions and Financial Aid programs for in-state residents,” said Jevita Rogers, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management & Financial Aid. “Starting for fall 2025, these programs have been renamed to Clyde’s Commitment for our assured Admissions acceptance program and then Clyde’s Pride Promise for our financial aid grant program to better show our Mountain Lion Pride! Go Mountain Lions!!”

Clyde’s Commitment assures that Colorado students with a minimum 3.0 GPA are guaranteed admission to UCCS, and their application fee is waived. With this, UCCS will also offer guidance to help students better understand the path forward in becoming a member of our Mountain Lion Family. Clyde’s Commitment is always nonbinding and is a promise to help all students harness their power for unlimited possibilities.

“Additionally, starting in Fall 2025, our students who qualify for the Chancellor’s Award (admissions merit award) and part of the Clyde’s Pride Promise grant program will be offered additional grant funds to assist with their on campus housing costs, since we know our students who live on campus have a better connection to campus life opportunities and the overall UCCS community,” Rogers added.

Through this new UCCS Clyde’s Housing Grant, qualifying students will be offered an additional $4,000 per year to be used towards their on-campus housing charges at UCCS. This housing grant will be renewable if the student continues to receive the Clyde’s Pride Promise grants and Chancellor’s Award in subsequent years.

Priority packaging awards are comprised of financial aid programs such as Federal campus-based programs (Federal SEOG and Federal Work-Study), State of Colorado Grants and UCCS grants.

Final award eligibility will be determined by the following factors:

  • Financial aid file completion date
  • FAFSA processing date prior to March 1
  • Cost of attendance
  • Colorado residency
  • Full-time or part-time enrollment.

Reminder that this aid is contingent on having the FAFSA processed by March 1, so be sure to meet that deadline and renew yearly.
