CU System President Todd Saliman spent the afternoon at UCCS, joining Chancellor Sobanet and campus leadership to learn more about the programs, spaces, and stories that make up the heart of student life and the Mountain Lion experience.
The visit began in the Student Life Lounge, where President Saliman received an introduction to the spaces and initiatives that help students connect and thrive, such as Clyde’s Cupboard. Saliman then met with student-athletes from the women’s basketball team, celebrating their RMAC victory. He also joined a conversation with students from MOSAIC and International Affairs, learning more about UCCS’s efforts to build inclusion, intercultural understanding, and a sense of global citizenship.
The afternoon continued with a showcase of student and faculty research. Presentations featured projects focused on expanding healthcare access in rural Colorado, advancing cancer research through cellular behavior studies, and supporting trauma recovery through innovative boxing and mindfulness therapy.
To close the visit, President Saliman mingled with student leaders and club representatives, engaging directly with the students who help shape campus life and community at UCCS.
