Regular reminder emails are to start being sent out today for all CU employees to complete the Information Security Awareness course. The course is a mandatory requirement every two years, put in place during the Cybersecurity Awareness Month campaign in October 2023.
The reminder email will contain the following information:
“The data that allows CU to deliver on our academic and research missions is critical to our success and protecting it from compromise is a priority for the CU Board of Regents, administration, and campus chancellors. For that reason, the Information Security Awareness training course must be completed by all CU employees (faculty, staff, and student employees) within the first 60 days of employment and every two years thereafter.
You are receiving this reminder because you are due to take this required training course. To access the course, click View Assignments, select your campus portal, and verify your identity.
For more details about the course, please refer to the Information Security Awareness Course Compliance FAQs. If you encounter technical issues with Percipio, visit Skillsoft Percipio Support or contact [email protected] for additional assistance.”
The schedule for the reminder emails is as follows:
- Employees will receive an email reminder 60 days before their due date.
- If they are already past due when the reminder feature is turned on, they will receive the reminder email immediately and will have 60 days to comply.
- Both groups will receive a reminder every two weeks, totaling four email reminders.
- If employees do not complete the course within the 60 days, they will be marked as past due and will start receiving overdue emails every two weeks until they complete the course.
- The completion date then becomes their new two-year due date.
The course is conveniently available in English, Spanish, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and Hindi.
