To: Angela Parr
From: Patty Witkowsky
Angela assisted with a video project on very short notice. She brought her expertise to the project and adjusted her schedule quickly to achieve the goal of a video to share with students about a new program. I really appreciate Angela’s willingness to prioritize the project and contribute to the larger goal of student retention and graduation through the marketing of the program.
To: Angello Soto
From: Ann Amicucci
Angello is an invaluable resource to our incoming students! I met a high school senior in passing, and when she learned I worked at UCCS, she shared that she had applied but later realized her transcript had an error. She wanted to submit a new transcript but didn’t know how to do so or who to contact. I put the student in contact with Angello, and he reached out to the student immediately to welcome her and invite her to send the transcript to him so it could be added to her application. I’m grateful to Angello for going above and beyond to help this student find her way!

We’d like to recognize Brad Addis for his outstanding contribution to UCCS and the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department. Brad went above and beyond by voluntarily helping the department admin clear out excess trash and recycling—a big task that required extra effort and teamwork. His willingness to step in, combined with his kindness, respectfulness, and helpful attitude, made a significant difference and exemplifies the spirit of collaboration and community at UCCS. Thank you, Brad, for your dedication and for making our department a better place!

To: DeLyn Winters
From: Mae Martin
I am a nontraditional freshman and veteran. I am enrolled in DeLyn Winters’ GPS 3010 course on Thursdays. She also runs the Veteran Writers Network that meet on Tuesdays. I can see how much work she puts in to taking care of her students, especially the veterans. Doing all that she can to help them transition into college with our backgrounds, she brings in that sense of camaraderie into the classroom. Making us feel safe and heard. I believe she is doing a wonderful job where she is and I believe this isn’t just a job to her, she loves it. She’s so passionate about veterans and it shows. I believe she needs to be recognized. I am so thankful for her. PS: She can’t do it alone, she has the help of Paige K.

To: Kris Godwin
From: Jay Hubert
Kris provided an amazing amount of support to me and my students in the production of our student-produced TV series The Bluffs this semester. We needed a location to film more than half a dozen scenes for the lab of our main character who is a UCCS engineering student. Kris not only allowed us to film in the Machine Shop for three Fridays, he provided and helped us set up props using items from around the shop, helped us rig things for our shots, and was quick to reply to emails with any questions we had. His shop assistant Lily Balthaser was also a tremendous help. Thank you, Kris!
To: Lindsay Knell
From: Paige Feria
Lindsay has been covering for multiple positions over the last few months. Not only has she taken on these extra responsibilities, but she has taken the time to train me and oversee my onboarding. She has such detailed documented processes that have made my training and onboarding so smooth. Lindsay is also quick to answer any questions. The knowledge and experience that Lindsay has makes her an incredible asset to the CJ and PA departments, as well as the College of Public Service as a whole. She deserves all of the Kudos and recognition!
To: Michael Plant
From: Keira Nocon
I want to take a moment to recognize Chef Michael for the incredible dedication and heart he brings to everything he does. He has been a mentor for me ever since I started as the retail dining supervisor and has supported me even now as I become the retail dining manger. For example, he is always there when I call, and even though he is crazy busy overlooking three retail operations, he always takes the time to help me with whatever it is that I need help with (i.e., putting away orders, delivering g2g, talking to student employees, etc.) His unwavering reliability, genuine care for others, and passion for his work are truly inspiring. He consistently goes above and beyond, not just showing up, but showing up with purpose and compassion. Furthermore, Chef Michael has been very open minded and proactive to these retail changes, and he has worked very hard, making sure that all of the retail operations (Alpine Express, Cafe 65, Clyde’s, and even Coffee) are running smoothly and efficiently. His positive energy and commitment make a meaningful difference to everyone around, and I am so very grateful to work alongside Chef Michael.

To: Tamsin Cowdery
From: Bill Craighead
After a staff departure left us shorthanded, Tamsin Cowdery stepped up and took on significant additional responsibility to manage the Economic Forum event. This required a significant amount of additional work, and Tamsin made sure all the important details were taken care of and the event went smoothly.
To: Tony Rago
From: Jay Hubert
Tony Rago just took several hours out of his day to show me and several of the student directors for our student-produced TV series The Bluffs around campus to help us find a few really tough locations for our current season. He has also offered to help us secure the locations we chose and get us access and safety clearances for our shoots. So much work goes into shooting each season of our show, and it’s so refreshing to meet people like Tony who make my job so much easier and more pleasant. Thank you, Tony!!!
