National First-Generation College Student Week: Kickoff Celebration

November 8th is National First-Generation College Student Day! This day is observed annually to celebrate first-generation college students, build community and provide educational opportunities for stronger advocacy across college campuses. Join the MOSAIC department’s First2Go program for a week of celebration leading up to the national day. At the kickoff celebration we’ll have free food, giveaways, a group photo and a panel of first-gen alumni! All events are free and open to the UCCS community.

How to Fact-Check AI

Generative AIs like ChatGPT can quickly produce false information in an authoritative writing style. We call this being “confidently wrong.” Learn why this happens and what you can do to investigate whether an AI gave you good or bad information. UCCS Hacking Training

Join us for the 1st ever UCCS Hacking Training. Xi Tan, Ph.D., will lead an informal session where she will train UCCS students on cybersecurity basics. Each Friday will cover a different topic and then we’ll get hands-on in the Cyber Lab. Topics will include basic networking concepts and network elements, understanding binary reverse engineering, basic hacking tools and concepts, understanding cryptographic elements and more. These sessions will be used to help train the UCCS 2026 RMCCDC Team (Rocky Mountain Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition), competing in the Spring, but are open to anyone!

2025 Heller Arts Exchange

The Heller Arts Exchange is an annual program that funds and supports the creation of an exhibition of new work by a local artist in collaboration with UCCS Students. The program provides an opportunity for a local artist to devise a gallery exhibition focused on their work. Simultaneously, it provides students with the opportunity to work alongside a professional artist, have their work funded and exhibited and experience the planning and executing of a gallery show. Students receive mentorship from both the artist and the Heller curator.
