In the recent “LinkedIn Cities on the Rise 2025: The 25 fastest-growing U.S. metros for jobs and new talent” report, Colorado Springs comes in at number fifteen on the list of spots where hiring and job opportunities are robust and industries are growing.
An already-established hub for aerospace, defense, tech and more, Colorado Springs is continuing to see growth in these areas, and UCCS is mirroring that growth with in-demand degrees, programs and opportunities to prepare students for the local workforce.
According to the report, two of Colorado Spring’s top employers include the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army. As a designated military-friendly school for nearly a decade, UCCS’s proximity to local bases and its dedication to supporting military-affiliated students keep it a prime location for those interested in defense and military careers.
Aerospace, one of the report’s highlighted fields, is a flourishing program at UCCS. Bolstered by the new, state-of-the-art Anschutz Engineering Center and Design and Prototyping Center, campus offers access to advanced equipment on par with what leading aerospace and tech companies are using.
UCHealth is another top employer for the region, whom UCCS has already established an athletics partnership with, and students thrive in the nursing, health science and human physiology & nutrition departments in the Johnson Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences through clinical practice and internships. Current UCHealth employees can pursue an RN to BSN track as well.
On top of these partnerships and parallel initiatives between UCCS and local organizations are efforts like the launch of C3 Innovation and Colorado Springs School and Technology, showing the campus commitment to meeting industry growth and demand.
