UCCS College of Engineering and Applied Science students shared their senior design capstone projects with the public at the Senior Design Expo 2025 held on May 5. This annual event showcased the culmination of two semesters of problem-solving work by students that included forming a team, managing the project and team, communicating with the client sponsor, solutions development, project deliverables, plus all capstone course requirements. Students worked in small teams to solve real-world problems for an external project sponsor.

The Senior Design Program provides students with practical experience as they transition from students to working engineers. Projects run the gamut and mimic real life in that they can be proof-of-concept, theoretical models, prototypes, physical solutions, experiments, designs, software, or another type of engineered solution. This year, there were 27 project teams, including 5 teams working on international project collaborations with Poland, Sweden, Uganda, and Mongolia, and 1 team that included students from University of Colorado Denver (CU Denver).
