Putting the Puzzle Together: How to Keep Your Aging Brain Healthy
Monday, April 7 from 4 – 5:15 p.m. | Kettle Creek, Room 108
- How are some people able to remain cognitively sharp well into their 80s and beyond? This talk, featuring Dr. Brian Yochim, will explore what you can do to maintain a healthy brain into late life. Findings from the latest scientific research on healthy brain aging will be described, and myths will be debunked. While healthy brain aging involves more than doing crossword puzzles, there are many behaviors we all can engage in to maintain a healthy brain into late life. This event is free, but registration is required.

In a world where scammers and AI are increasingly targeting our older population with sophisticated tricks, this workshop gives seniors (and their caregivers) information to protect themselves. Participants will learn how to recognize online scams and phishing attempts, create strong and memorable passwords and browse the internet safely. - Join us to learn from ethics fellow Kathy Liu, Ph.D., ATC, and Associate Professor of Health Sciences at the Helen and Arthur E. Johnson Beth-El College. Navigating the world of collegiate athletics in the era of NIL deals add an extra layer of complexity. In collegiate football, with the addition of the new playoff system along with bowl games, some collegiate athletes have chosen to sit out their last game of their collegiate career to reduce the risk of injury as they anticipate playing at the next level in the NFL. Students will participate in a debate on the pros and cons of participating in the bowl game or playoff game through the lens of the UCCS Ethics Initiative and the DFEI principles to support their stance. Colorado Vocal Arts Ensemble – A Sense of Place: Reflections on Belonging

- To conclude our 32nd season, Colorado Vocal Arts Ensemble presents a concert inspired by Earth Day. Part elegy and part celebration, the program will evoke specific landscapes while exploring ideas of belonging and yearning for the places we call home.
