  • Intersectional Legacies series presents “Queerness within Black Communities.” MOSAIC, in collaboration with BSU and QTPOC, invite speaker Stoney Roberts (they/he), Site Director for Prism Community Collective, to come speak. Participants will hear their story and engage in insightful discussions that challenge perspectives at the intersections of queerness and blackness. Event open to all & food will be provided!

Opioid Overdose Response and Narcan Training
Wednesday, March 5 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. | Gallogly Rec and Wellness Center – Group Fitness Room 2

  • Join us for a presentation on the dangers of opioids and how to recognize and respond to an opioid overdose. Those that attend will have access to free a naloxone (Narcan) kit and fentanyl testing strips. Presentations occur one a month in the Rec Center on the 2nd floor in the group fitness 2 class.

  • Kinsey Institute Global Ambassador and Stonewall School Role Model Jessica Lynn is a world-renowned transgender advocate, educator and activist. Her experiences as a transgender woman and parent led her to dedicate her life to spreading awareness and acceptance for gender nonconforming communities around the world. Internationally, Jessica is considered one of the foremost transgender speakers due to her dynamic, refreshingly honest speaking style, unique sense of humor, and signature “ask-me-anything” Q&A sessions. Please join us for this timely and important presentation.

Clouds, Climate, and the Ocean: A String Theorist Becomes an Oceanographer
Wednesday, March 5 from 5 – 6 p.m. | Osborne A204

  • In this talk, Alex Kinsella, Ph.D., presents findings from recent field campaigns focused on air-sea interaction and atmospheric convection in the tropical Indian Ocean, East Pacific, and the Atlantic US continental shelf, and discusses how the control of air-sea interaction transitions from atmospheric to oceanic during the onset of the South Asian summer monsoon, the largest cloud system in the world. He will also share his journey from a Ph.D. in string theory to a research position in ocean and climate science, illustrating how a physicist’s skill set can advance our understanding of Earth’s climate system.
