Office of the Vice Chancellor for Strategic Initiatives launch new web resources

The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Strategic Initiatives, at the behest of the Chancellor, has launched a UCCS Federal Transition Team along with a corresponding informational webpage: Federal Updates. The UCCS Federal Transition Team will work in conjunction with the CU System guidance on the federal transition to ensure timely communication and resources for the UCCS community. There will be updates each week in Friday’s Communique newsletter – even if it just a “nothing to report this week” post.

Along with the new working group, Vice Chancellor Parent has spent her first few weeks diving into learning about UCCS and aligning the work of the newly formed office, including a revision and alignment of the Care & Belonging at UCCS website. This website continues to serve as a strategic plan-based resource for the campus community to find information and resources on the university’s foundational values of inclusive care and belonging.

“I’m so thrilled to be here at UCCS and working with so many talented and passionate faculty, staff and students,” said Robin Parent, Vice Chancellor for Strategic Initiatives and Chief of Staff. “As part of my role as VC of Strategic Initiatives and drawing on my experiences in Washington D.C. working with APLU, I am eager to support the campus, along with the dedicated folks on the working group, navigate the federal transition.”

“I am also so proud of the work our team has done to be able to offer these online assets to our campus,” she continued. “Keeping our community updated in both of these impactful areas is essential to fostering an informed, engaged and inclusive campus.”

The Federal Updates page includes all UCCS communications about the federal transition, as well as a list of resources for faculty and staff. It also links to the CU Government Relations news page for those looking for more information on Systemwide updates. The page will be updated regularly as new information comes in.

The Care & Belonging at UCCS page has information about the university’s commitment to belonging, the strategic plan and a list of recently awarded recognitions, including UCCS’s designation as an Age-Friendly university, a Military-Friendly campus and an LGBTQ+ Friendly Campus.
