Just before the fall 2024 commencement ceremonies this part December, UCCS alum and astronaut John Herrington visited campus.

Herrington’s campus visit included breakfast in the Anschutz Engineering Center with leadership and students from the College of Engineering and Applied Science, followed by a tour of the center. Herrington then sat down for a video interview with Alumni & Donor Engagement Director Tiyana Hardney Vela, stopping by the Kraemer Family Library John Herrington Display on the way to the El Pomar Tower for the video.

Following the video, Herrington enjoyed lunch with campus partners at Clyde’s Restaurant.

In the afternoon, Herrington visited the Family Development Center and read his book, “Mission to Space,” to the kids, who asked a lot of great questions about space.

Herrington ended his day with a visit to the William J. Hybl Sports Medicine and Performance Center.
