Arts & Culture

The Heart Sellers
Runs Jan. 31 – Feb. 16 with several showtimes | Dusty Loo Bon Vivant Theater

  • Thanksgiving dinner looms over a grocery store in 1970s America, when Luna and Jane, immigrants from The Philippines and Korea and both medical student wives, strike up a conversation over matching coats and matching challenges. With a suspiciously frozen turkey in the oven, the two women bond over disco, Disneyland, and the drive to make a home that–until tonight– has felt so isolated. This Colorado premiere of a poignant, charming new play from Lloyd Suh, and directed by Jenna Moll Reyes (Twelfth Night) explores the longing that connects across barriers and against all odds. Select a showtime and purchase tickets here.

Colorado Springs Philharmonic presents: Chavez/Mendelssohn
Saturday, Feb. 1 at 7:30 p.m. | Shockley-Zalabak Theater

  • Feel the pulse of the earth beneath your feet as Chávez’s vibrant Mexican rhythms meet Mendelssohn’s windswept Scottish melodies. These two composers paint vivid pictures, from the moody skies and fabled highlands of Scotland to the raw, earthy energy of ancient Mexico, in a powerful celebration of cultural heritage. Join us for Colorado Springs Philharmonic Pre-Concert talks. Go behind the curtain and inside the score with these 30-minute pre-concert conversations featuring conductors and guest artists giving their take on the program. Talks begin one hour before performance time. Purchase tickets here.
